Programme 12.-15.6.2019

This years festivities at the WoertherSee Classics will start off with a piece by Johannes Brahms, written not far from the Wörthersee, and is crowned by a rarity by R. Gliére - the concert for coloratura soprano and orchestra - one of the most important compositions in russian-symphonic literature. Rounded off by Sibelius's first symphony, there is nothing standing in the way of a continuation of the complementary opposites. Alexei Kornienko and the Györ Philharmonic Orchestra will lead through this evening and Anna Ihring completes with her coloratura soprano.

Elena Denisova, Tao Fan and the Gustav Mahler Ensemble abduct in the next evening with in the world of Dieter Kaufmann. His work "Elena en face" - written for the interpreter - continues to inspire not only friends of contemporary music. Mozart's Concerto No. 5 and Schubert's "Death and the Maiden", edited by Mahler, offer the opposite pole to this soiree.

On Friday afternoon, a lecture will be given at the Alpen-Adria-Universität. Jürg Stenzl can be heard on the "holiday composers" and the following evening entertainment is led by and under the motto "Duo del Gesú" and dazzles with works by Haydn, Mozart, Kreuz, Schubert and Brahms.

The organist Eva Darraqc-Antesberger and the organist Klaus Kuchling perform at the final concert in the four-hand organ association with pure rarities. May the strength of the opposing poles bring us together this year and unite in an intimate equilibrium!
